Position: Store Manager
4-5 full days
(9:30-6:00) per week, including most Saturdays.
Description: The store manager is responsible for the
day-to-day operations on the selling floor. This person works closely with
customers and sales associates to ensure that our high level of customer
service is consistently maintained. Our workplace is positive, our customers
nice. The store manager is also responsible for the processing and
merchandising of all new inventory, and works closely with the owner to create
sales and promotions. This person is the direct supervisor of all sales
associates and inventory assistants. The store manager reports directly to the
owner. This is a position for someone who is dedicated and interested in the
unlimited growth possibilities within this organization.
Responsibilities
Sales:
- Express thorough
knowledge of the lines we carry, how they run, and the sizes available.
- Provide
friendly, outstanding customer service by identifying must-needs and providing
appropriate solutions
- Become a
fashion “authority” to customers and confidently express this to them
- Create customer
loyalty
- Perform opening
and closing procedures
- Achieve monthly
sales goals
- Train and
manage all sales associates
Inventory
Management & Merchandising:
- Process all new
merchandise
- Display new
merchandise in a visually appealing, shoppable way
- Place reorders
when needed
- Manage vendor
returns, discounts, and credits
- Perform
year-end inventory and maintain appropriate shrink level
- Train and
manage all inventory assistants
Marketing &
Special Events:
- Team with owner
to create sales and promotions
- Create e-mail
blasts to customers
- Maintain
website, assuring it is up-to-date with current merchandise, promotions, and
events
- Work closely
with owner to execute the annual fashion show
Buying:
- Enter and
maintain all purchase orders
- Create
appropriate buying reports
- Maintain an up
to date on-order summary
- Attend select
buying appointments and trade shows
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree
or equivalent in retail management experience
- Previous
experience in high-end retail (apparel preferred)
- Must have an
interest in fashion and knowledge of trends
- Must be
confident, organized and able to work well with/sell to moms & kids
- Must be
outgoing, positive, and high-energy with excellent interpersonal skills
- Must be able to
work in a small boutique environment, willing to adjust to changing plans and
priorities
- Must be
proficient in Microsoft Office
- Some knowledge
of Illustrator and Photoshop is a plus
